Marc and Cordelia may live in New York, but their hearts have always belonged to the UK and when it came to planning their wedding, they knew the perfect place to celebrate. Dreaming of a truly English countryside wedding, they chose the Kirtlington, the Cotswolds for its iconic scenery, charm and relaxed elegance.
This was a day rooted in natural beauty, meaningful connections and effortless flow.
The Ceremony — Classic & Emotional
Their wedding began with a traditional church ceremony steeped in warmth and joy. Surrounded by family and friends who had travelled from near and far, the couple exchanged vows in a setting that felt both timeless and deeply personal.
A Picturesque Walk to Reception
One of the most memorable elements of the day was the walk from the church to the reception. Guests made their way together through church grounds across the field to look upon the stunning marquee tent for the outdoor reception. These informal, shared moments made for some stunning natural portraits and candids of their guests.
Sail Tent Magic — Reception in Style
At the reception, Sail Tent Company provided a stunning sail tent that felt both elegant and true to the couple’s vision of something relaxed and timeless. The tent — open, light and intrinsically connected to its surroundings — created a welcoming and magical backdrop for the celebration that followed.
Inside, the space was styled simply yet beautifully: warm lighting, natural textures, and an atmosphere that encouraged guests to linger, laugh and enjoy the evening.
Planning & Details — Seamless & Intentional
The coordination of the day was expertly handled by the brilliant Katie Louise Weddings, whose thoughtful planning allowed everything to unfold naturally without ever feeling rushed. I’ve worked with Katie a few times now and she is amazing!!!! From the church timing to the reception layout, each part of the day felt intuitive and unforced — the kind of pacing that lets real moments shine.
Florals by Kirsty added just the right touch: seasonal, soft, and organically woven into the surroundings. Whether framing the couple’s walk or accenting tables in the sail tent, the flowers felt like a natural extension of the landscape — not just decorations but a huge part of the day.
Photography That Feels Like the Day
The imagery from the wedding — from quiet, candid moments to sweeping views of the landscape, and the laughter shared between guests — reflects the energy of the day perfectly. It’s documentary in spirit, yet rich in emotion and connection: exactly the kind of wedding story Ollie Baines Photography loves to tell, blending love, joy and intimacy into every shot.
