Wow, what an amazing year of weddings! At the start of this year, I was working full time at The Body Coach whilst navigating becoming a Dad and also taking on 20 weddings. It’s been absolutely full-on at times, but I wouldn’t have changed it for the world.
In January, I wrote down some personal goals that I wanted to achieve and I’ll share those with you now.
First, was to get through a full year of 20 weddings. I feel so privileged to have worked with the most incredible, kind and warm couples. Every single one of these weddings has a special place in my heart, which is why I wanted to feature all of them on here. Every wedding was held at a different venue and I love the authenticity that each wedding day brings.
Second, a big goal of mine was to enter some awards this year. I am honoured to be named as a Highly Commended Photographer at The Wedding Industry Awards last month. I want to thank all of my couples who voted for me – it’s all because to you guys! I was also fortunate enough win a This is Reportage award for a photo that actually features in this set (see if you can spot which one it is?)
Finally, and probably the biggest one of all, I wanted wedding photography to become my full time job. I’ve been working at The Body Coach for 6 years now and been doing all of my photography work on the side. In early December (literally a few days ago) I made the decision to leave The Body Coach and take the leap of faith to become a full time wedding photographer in 2023!
Looking back on this year, I feel so thankful to be working in an industry that celebrates people. Photos really have the power to make you feel things and I love that I can call this my job.
So, here’s to 2022. Thank you for being the most incredible year for me.
Enjoy,
Ollie x
